Project Overview:

The Government of Alberta (GoA) is transforming its services for better efficiency and user experience. The Digital Design and Delivery Division (3D) leads this initiative, working with various ministries to deliver innovative digital solutions.

Role Description:

The DevOps Specialist will support service innovation, program review, and digital transformation projects. Responsibilities include managing agile sprints, providing leadership in agile principles, and ensuring effective service delivery.

Scope of Services:

  • Automation and Operations:

    • Design and implement automation for deployment and maintenance
    • Manage configuration and credentials for production
    • Plan and manage maintenance activities, database upgrades, and backups
  • Support and Enhancement:

    • Create templates and patterns for deployments and CI/CD pipelines
    • Develop tools and processes for better application observability
    • Provide operations support for testing and delivery to end-users
Required Skills:

  • "Helix Migrate" Certified (BMC PS or BMC Approved Partner)
  • 4+ years of experience with Remedy ARS Development and BMC ITSM v9+
  • Code review, unit testing, SmartIT Development, PL/SQL, and code analysis
  • Experience mapping business requirements into functional specifications
Notes:

  • This position is primarily remote, with occasional onsite meetings in Edmonton
  • Travel and associated expenses to Edmonton are not covered by the Province
  • The role may require adjustments in hours and deliverables based on project needs
