Task description and requirements
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Operating Room (OR) team in Northern Ontario. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing high-quality surgical care, a strong sense of community, and the ability to thrive in a remote healthcare setting. - Perform pre-operative assessments, including reviewing patient history and preparing patients for surgery.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assist in post-operative care and recovery.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation related to surgical procedures.
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures to prevent the spread of infections in the OR.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Registered Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Operating Room (OR) setting required.
- Proficiency in handling surgical equipment and instruments.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, pain management, and medication administration.
- Experience with electronic health records systems
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
- Rate: $80/Hour + Overtime (1.5X)
- Shift: 12 Hours - Guaranteed 37.5 hours per week
- Duration: 3-6 months
- Start/End: ASAP - January 2025
