Overview
The Forman Lab Technician is part of the Hub City Paving team on Vancouver Island. This team supports Hub City Paving/company customers through New Product Development (NPD), Innovative customer solutions and customer support. In this role, you will work as part of a team and carry hot mix asphalt and aggregate lab work as directed.
Responsibilities
Follow lab Operating Procedures and Safe Working Procedures for all lab tasks and equipment
Preparation and sampling of hot mix asphalt, completion, and reporting of hot mix asphalt Marshall Analysis tests, prepare, batch and test hot mix asphalt mix designs, asphalt coring on compacted pavement.
Aggregate testing (grading, durability etc)
Accurately documents results/observations and maintains paperwork and/or computer databases
Collate test results and inputs into files/databases – ensures that all data is filed in accordance with the QMS
As required, maintains the calibration files and maintenance/servicing files for lab equipment and processes
Ensure that the H&S and housekeeping standards are maintained
Work in the field – as needed
Conduct monthly safety inspections and FLRA’s to ensure compliance with the company Standards.

Qualification Profile
Education & Experience
Polytechnic or University new grads are encouraged to apply
Work experience in the laboratory or field testing of hot mix asphalt or aggregate.
This role is physical and will require the handling and lifting of dusty and heavy materials (aggregate, hot mix asphalt, and equipment)
