Objective

Contributes to ensuring the high level of performance of the plant equipment by ensure application of maintenance procedures, methods and best practices, implementing action plans to improve both reliability and maintenance practices. Provide technical expertise for plant operations, as required. Ensure planning of maintenance operations, looking for the optimum use of resources, equipment availability and maintenance cost. Measures and monitors equipment conditions, analyzes trends, and identifies the needs for maintenance (mechanical, electrical, mobile equipment, and instrumentation), taking into account production constraints.

Responsibilities

Safety:



Follows and ensures full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Ensures all contracts and project site meet the safety policy requirements for our employee’s safety.


Inspections



Perform safety inspections of the condition of equipment to ensure that it meets all required standards 
Ensure that Inspection Routes and Job Plans include Safety Inspection.
Ensure the planned inspection of all plant equipment and initiate work orders based on inspection results, including safety checks. 
In case of anomaly, performs first analysis and defines priorities for each action. 
Monitor and co-ordinate condition predictors, for all critical equipment.
Track inspection related KPIs to continuously improve the inspection process and efficiency to improve plant equipment reliability.


Preventative Maintenance Plans



Evaluate and improve the preventive maintenance job plans (from supplier’s recommendation if existing), create and update the corresponding inspection job plans, in coordination with the planner.


Maintenance Standards And Execution



Ensure that the maintenance practices, documented on Job Plans, comply with Quality Insurance Standards Organize Major Maintenance Turnaround and Shutdown inspections schedule.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of the condition of all plant equipment on a continuous basis.
Plant Equipment information Validate and update equipment specification files (strategy sheets) and history files (data collection sheets).


Maintenance Optimization, Root Cause Analysis And Equipment Reliability



Ensure systematic review, application and optimization of lubrication program.
Optimize the maintenance operations according to the availability of equipment and workforce.
Contributes to the analysis of failures and problems, recommending corrective actions.
Lead RCA initiatives for critical equipment failures to arrive at the root cause of the failure and develop associated action plan to prevent similar failures in the future.
Analyze and propose solutions on recurring problems of equipment reliability or problems concerning safety and work conditions.
Accountable to evaluate performance equipment plant through RCA, FMEA, pareto analysis on weekly bases to achieve NAI and MTBF plant target


Budgeting



Identify, evaluate and proposes options to extend the life of plant equipment.
Assist the Maintenance Manager with the preparation of maintenance budgets ensuring technical justification of maintenance operations; based on inspection and equipment history


Relationships With Others Jobs



The Preventative Maintenance Coordinator reports to the Maintenance Manager. Collaborates with the Maintenance Coordinator in the execution of the maintenance, inspection and planning activities.


Specific Accountabilities



First level and specific inspection of all plant equipment in all conditions (stoppage, running)
Formalized inspection tools and reports created for key pieces of equipment and maintain good inspection records
Develop a comprehensive vibration analysis and lubrication program based on plant needs and continuously improve them based on changing equipment and process conditions
Good understanding of the types of lubrication available for different applications and situations
Close co-ordination with Production (especially shifts and process) to get feed-back from operations on equipment conditions, production constraints, on equipment availability for maintenance inspection
Validate production first level inspection check sheets and provide constant feedback and information to production shift personnel on critical inspection points on various equipment in the plant
Be available as a resource for the production shift personnel to continuously improve the first level inspection process
Co-ordination with Scheduling and Execution, to get feedback from maintenance Execution team, on equipment status and jobs preparation.
Validate quality of equipment repair and provide feedback to the maintenance Execution team on work quality and improvement opportunities

Qualification Profile

Education & Work Experience



Technical degree in mechanics or vocational training + 5 years experience in maintenance in an industrial environment
Fluently bilingual


Knowledge & Skills



Has a thorough understanding of Process Explorer (IP21) and is able to locate equipment problems by monitoring trends based on process flows
Has a good understanding of maintenance costs and budget and base decisions taking into account equipment risks and budget constraints
Cement production process
Computer literacy, especially SAP
Problem solving methods and tools (Root Cause Failure Analysis, Risk Analysis…). Understanding of cause and effect relationships
Knowledge of non destructive testing devices (vibration, oil, infrared, ultrasonic, magnetic, radiographic, etc)
Ability to collect and analyze vibration data, measurement of gauges, alignment control of equipment, establish a mechanical diagnosis
In-depth understanding of hot and cold kiln alignment procedures, ovality analysis and roller adjustments
Advanced knowledge of gears and gear systems in order to better monitor equipment drive conditions (example: symetro, kiln girth gears etc.,)
Abreast with latest advancements in mechanical diagnostic tools to improve precision of maintenance activities
Sound know-how of critical machine tolerances and clearances for better monitoring and troubleshooting
Basic knowledge of electricity principles
Accuracy and precision
Ability to interact with plant personnel. Good interpersonal skills
Easily approachable by others and calm under stress and pressure
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
