Overview
The Kamloops Lafarge Facility is looking to fill the role of Production Supervisor. This member of the management team will report to the Grinding Plant Manager and will be responsible for supervising the production group. This job will be progressive and over time the individual will be given more responsibilities within the operations as experience and skills progress.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environment KPI’s policy, rules, and regulations.
Strong focus on making sure WorkSafeBC Supervisory regulations and requirements are being followed and met
Accomplish manufacturing results by coordinating and communicating job expectations
View quality control processes & objectives as a fundamental aspect of operations
Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process
Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel
Maintain and support shipping and receiving programs by truck and rail
Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs and working with the maintenance team.
Provide manufacturing information by analyzing production performance records and data.
Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, implementing change
Production and inventory management through SAP and data entry
Maintain working relationship with the union by following the collective bargaining agreement.
Address and manage employee issues and conflicts
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
2nd in line quarry and mine responsibility
All other duties as required due to business needs
Qualifications
Proven supervisory experience in an industrial environment. Post-secondary education is not a requirement, but considered an asset.
Ability to coach and mentor
Able to manage processes, and implement processes
Must be well organized
Production planning
Dealing with complexity and an ever changing work environment
Experience managing in a union environment
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
Proficiency with Microsoft and google sheets and docs and ability to work with web-based systems as required
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to influence and direct work
Time and self-management skills, including being self-directed, and able to achieve current priorities
What We Offer
Base Salary: $73,000 - 83,000 per year (rate determined based on skills and experience)
Bonus Eligibility: up to 20% of base salary
