Description: Reporting to the Manager, Geological Optimization, the selected individual will work within a multi-disciplinary team that is focused on continuously optimizing SAGD pads currently operating across the Foster Creek and Christina Lake assets.
Job Responsibilities:
Technical Expectations:
*Support Client's short and long term development plans that include:
o Well execution
o Well surveillance
o Production optimization
o Providing geological properties for production related forecasting
o Contributing to regulatory applications, scheme amendments and directives
*Support workflow optimization projects with the intent of improving geoscience and reservoir engineering workflows and outputs
*Conduct resource assessments using integrated datasets that support production forecasts over the life cycle of a SAGD pad.
*Generate new ideas and opportunities to redevelop area's undergoing production that provide incremental value to Client.
*Responsible for the interpretation of the observation well programs as they pertain to SAGD operations and interpret cased hole logging (i.e. RST's, pieziometers, thermocouples etc.) and steam chamber core results.
*Work closely with geophysicists to interpret 4D seismic and integrate steam chamber results back into the geological model.
*Characterize the reservoir using all geoscience datasets, incorporating production and conformance results and relate the findings back to the geological model.
*Work with a multi-disciplinary team to troubleshoot production and steam trends with the goal of maximizing production and minimizing SOR.
*Monitor the reservoir for issues related to reservoir containment.

Qualifications:
*Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
*Professional Geologist, accredited with APEGA
*8+ years of experience is required
*Preference for SAGD thermal or other enhanced oil recovery experience in Alberta and/or Saskatchewan
*Experience in horizontal well planning and execution will be considered an asset
*Advanced level skills in Geoscience Technical Competencies with depth of knowledge of multiple geoscience disciplines
*Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and ability to influence others without authority
*Communicates complex information, clearly and concisely to a diverse audience
