NOTE: HYBRID work model, 2-days/week in office. Office located in Toronto, Ontario.

Type: 6 Month Contract, 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
Work Experience: 5+ years Developer, SAS (Statistical Analysis System), Python, SQL, Pandas, GIT, JIRA, Confluence, Azure, CloudBees, Jenkins, UrbanCode, UC4, AKS Azure Kubernetes Service
Industry: Capital Markets, Investments, Bank

DESCRIPTION:

  • Working independently and as part of a small team, migrate existing code and workflows from Statistical Analysis System (SAS) to Python & SQL.
  • Individual will be required to analyze existing logic and code, and subsequently come up with a suitable, efficient, and well-tested design in Python.
  • With supervision and code/design reviews by senior staff, responsible for the timely completion of high-quality, well designed and well architected and tested systems.
  • Responsible for completion of an acceptable volume of work and for the communication of status of personal work plans and tasks required to design, develop, and test assigned portion of projects.
REQUIREMENTS:

  • Computer Science or Engineering degree with equivalent working experience
  • 5+ years of software design/development experience
  • Sound knowledge of current information systems theories, concepts, and techniques
  • Good organizational, analytical, debugging, resourcefulness and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong design, testing, and documentation skills
  • Strong hands-on Python development skills using Data science libraries such as Pandas, etc.
  • Strong SQL skills using relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2
  • Working experience with GIT, JIRA, Confluence
  • Testing best practices
  • Experience in the following technologies will be considered as a strong asset:
  • SAS – sas.com
  • Containerization, cloud-native development  (i.e. Azure, AKS Azure Kubernetes Service, etc.)
  • CI/CD tools (CloudBees, Jenkins, UrbanCode, etc)
  • UC4 Automic (job scheduler)
