My automotive customer are currently looking for Freelance Functional safety support for a fully remote long term position:

Project goals and tasks:

• Evaluation of tools in each project/toolchain for the development of electronic vehicle functions, according to ISO 26262-8-2018 §11 “Confidence in the use of software tools”.
• A report on the evaluation of the tool criteria shall be prepared for each project/toolchain, detailing the results of the analysis and classification of tools. In addition, safety manuals must be prepared for each tool in the project/toolchain, detailing the specific recommendations to be followed when using the tool for safety-related development within the project/toolchain context
• Evaluation of tools that require qualification in accordance with ISO 26262-8-2018 §11 ‘Confidence in the use of software tools’ (incl. a tool qualification plan, a tool qualification report and a tool safety manual are created describing the qualification method, results and instructions for using the tool in a safety-relevant project/toolchain context).
• Potentially: Discussions with authorities and certification bodies, OEM

Skills:
• Functional Safety
• Very good knowledge of ISO 26262, experience in the classification and qualification of tools
• German: Business fluent
• Experience in the automotive industry is an advantage
