At Bell, we are proud to be an iconic company with superb talent, rapidly creating novel and coveted vertical lift experiences.  Summary of job description The assignment will consist in the preparation of structural airframe repairs including drafting of drawings (Catia V6) and preparation of the repair procedures for fielded aircraft including their stress analysis. Also, the assignment will consist in the preparation of structural airframe repairs (Catia V6) for the structural repair manuals (SRM) including their stress analysis.


The incumbent will perform the following tasks:

  •  Design a repair for damaged parts from Bell customer. 
  •  Discuss the repair with the designer and find a suitable way to repair the part (repair material and thickness, rivets type and size, etc). 
  •  If required, coordinate with the other "skills" such as powerplant, materials, dynamic structures, fatigue, etc. 
  •  Review the repair to make sure that the design of the repair meets the standards of the Repairs group. Make sure that the right materials are used and available for the customer and that all relevant information are well represented on the repair drawing. 
  •  Write the required and the procedures for each repair. 
  •  Perform a stress analysis (Static and Fatigue if needed) to make sure that the repair is as good as original configuration. 
  •  Approve the repair for stress. 
  •  Coordinate with the group engineers and the CD (Certification Delegate) or EFUM (Engineering and Flight Test Unit Member) to obtain final approval (SOC or 8100) of the repair. 

 Minimum required qualifications

  •  Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. 
  •  Experience in the field of Airframe Design or/and mechanical is an asset. 
  •  A good knowledge of technical terms used in documents and military and/or industrial specifications. 
  •  Good communication skills. 
  •  Team work is essential. 
  •  CATIA V4 knowledge or equivalent is a plus. 
  •  CATIA V6 knowledge is essential. 
  •  Experience with airframe structural repairs is a major plus. 
  •  Functional knowledge of English and French.
