Personal summary

As a structural EIT, one of the most critical aspects of this position is the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and it requires a high level of organization, communication, and project management skills. I have had that experience in this area, having several projects from initiation to completion. Throughout this process, I have the experience of engaging proactively with architects, contractors, and other disciplines to ensure that all stakeholders are on the same page and working towards the same goals. Another area of my expertise is seismic engineering. This is an essential field, particularly in areas prone to earthquakes. I have excellent academic experience in assessing the seismic vulnerability of buildings and developing seismic retrofit strategies to improve their resilience. As a junior structural engineer, I have also experience doing shop drawing reviews, field reviews, and construction administration to ensure that projects conform to the design concept. This involves reviewing construction plans and specifications and ensuring that they meet the necessary codes and regulations. I have also developed expertise in Finite Element Modelling software, including ABAQUS, SAFE, SAP2000, ETABS, and AutoCAD. This software allows me to model and analyze structures accurately and efficiently, providing insight into their behavior under various loads and conditions. In my MASc program, I developed 3D Finite Element Modeling in ABAQUS to find out the effect of steel shear tab connection on the lateral-torsional buckling capacity of W-shaped beams. This involved creating a detailed model of the beam and testing extended shear tab connections to determine which one would provide the greatest lateral-torsional buckling capacity. Finally, I have excellent presentation and technical writing skills, as demonstrated by my attendance at the Structural Stability Research Council, USA, and Canadian Society of Civil Engineering Conferences. These skills allow me to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to a wide range of audiences. In summary, my experience as both a research assistant and structural EIT has allowed me to develop a wide range of skills, including finite element modeling, project management, seismic engineering, and assessment of building structures. Overall, my experience and skills make me well-suited to handle complex engineering projects and deliver high-quality results.
