JOB DESCRIPTION

As a key member of EHN’s growing alumni team, the Alumni Coordinator is responsible for the introduction of post-treatment community to the inpatient clients during their intensive treatment stay, as well as facilitating events, supports, resources and communications for the Alumni Community and across the network. The position also plays a key role in advocating and supporting alumni activities both onsite and throughout the community. The ideal candidate will have lived experience in some capacity in the addiction/mental health treatment community and previous or ongoing education in the space and/or customer service/business development experience. Marketing experience and event planning experience are also considered assets.

JOB FUNCTION AND DUTIES
  • Create and deliver a program that introduces every client to post-treatment community options, including EHN’s Recovery brand.
  • Meet with each inpatient client early in treatment to lay the foundation for successful completion of programming that includes attendance at self-help meetings, enrollment in aftercare (where applicable), participation in community and peer-leader opportunities, as well as an introduction to the Recovery community. 
  • Identify opportunities to assist clients with post-treatment planning by connecting them with the Recovery Alumni community, 12-step programs, and other regional supports, and/or working to towards safe living environments, etc.
  • Meet with each inpatient client individually in final weeks of treatment to finalize post-treatment plans, guide them to Aftercare enrollment, connect them with 12-step contacts/meetings, encourage them to engage in EHN’s volunteer opportunities, encourage feedback, including testimonials and GMB reviews, engage them in upcoming events and invite them to join committees etc. Other opportunities, as necessary.
  • Initiate cross-collaboration with peers across departments as necessary, including clinical, medical, admissions, marketing, business development, operations, etc. furthering the programs EHN offers and problem-solving challenges/obstacles as they arise.
  • Develop and execute on a program of succession for the Alumni effort, including identifying talent.
  • Continue to develop and nurture a volunteer program and its Alumni community, including arranging speakers/facilitators for alumni led in-house meetings.
  • Maintain relations with community self-help groups and ensure client access to live and virtual 12-step meetings/etc.
  • Manage direct reports as necessary as the team continues to grow
  • Travel as required to represent EHN and the Recovery community with existing/potential partners, community events, etc.
  • Other duties as required
