Overview

The Project Coordinator is an integral part of our site Project Management team in organizing our ongoing projects. This involves monitoring project plans, schedules, document control, and organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings, and ensuring that project deadlines are met in a timely manner. Liaising with owners and stakeholders to find solutions.

The Project Coordinator is the key lead to ensure compliance to all project documentation needs and to ensure project process controls are in place to allow for design compliance, revenue capture, cost control and safety compliance.

The Project Coordinator is integral in maintaining the capability of the Edmonton Construction Group to increase construction revenue and capability. This includes actively participating in building a culture of agility, collaboration, and empowerment (ACE) enabling continuous improvement.

Paving
Milling
Grading
Curb and Gutter 



Responsibilities

Health and Safety: 



Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environment areas
See Something, Do Something! Ensures safe working conditions in site
Undertake scheduled job observations or contractor inspections in accordance with communicated schedules
Ensuring the overall safety of the site for all workers, safety procedures are being adhered to at all times. 



Project Coordination: 



Delivering and implementing safety orientations if required
Assisting with creating and updating schedules
Delivering bulletins and notices
Executing of QC plan, environmental plan, safety plan, traffic accommodation and required permits
Completing AB One Calls
Tracking and measuring all quantities daily
In depth understanding of contract measurement of payment 
Tracking and ensuring all extra work is preapproved and change orders are in place 
Processing daily field paperwork
Quantity take offs and site verifications
Assisting with completion of as-built drawings
Liaising with Inspectors and Surveyors
Managing pre-construction projects, inspections and set-up
Assisting in correspondence with owner or consultant
Assisting in expediting invoicing and receiving progresses from owner
Working with customers prior to billing to ensure alignment of volumes and measures
Site inspections are performed on a regular basis to document the progress and quality of construction activities.



Dimensions:



Interacting with project managers, superintendents, foremen, owner, engineers, consultants, general contractor, subcontractors, and other sub trades



Qualification Profile

Education: 



Diploma from Technical Institute in Engineering, or 
Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Civil Engineering
5+ years’ related hands-on field or trade experience in a leadership role 



Experience and Skill Set:



Good project coordination experience
Great problem solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and great organization skills
Good knowledge of Paving, Asphalt and Construction industry
Capable of multi-tasking and managing priorities
High capacity of working under pressure and stress 
Ability to effectively present information in writing, and respond to questions from a group of managers, clients, customers and the general public
Ability to calculate figures, amounts, such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area circumference and volume
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of drawings, contract specifications in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Computer proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, drafting, and scheduling applications
Ability to work long hours including evenings and weekends
Comfortable publicly addressing large groups
Experience managing complicated and tight timelines and keeping teams on track
Proficient with Google suite and Microsoft applications, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Experience with Bid2WIN and SAP are an asset
