Task description and requirements
- Supervision and Leadership:
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, including, licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and nursing assistants.
- Delegate tasks and assignments effectively, considering staff skills and workload.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff, offering support and guidance as needed.
- Assist in administrative duties and coverage for the nursing supervisor as required.
- Patient Care:
- Assess patient needs and develop care plans in collaboration with the clinical, support and management teams.
- Monitor patient status and condition, intervening as necessary to ensure optimal care.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with facility team members, from all organizational departments
- Coordinate patient care activities and collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed promptly.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to patient documentation and confidentiality.
- Quality Improvement:
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Monitor adherence to evidence-based practices and clinical protocols, promoting best practices in patient care.
- Emergency Response:
- Respond to emergencies and crises within the healthcare facility, providing leadership and direction to nursing staff.
- Coordinate with other departments and emergency services to ensure appropriate response and patient care.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Previous experience in a clinical nursing role, with demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards of practice in nursing
