Task description and requirements

Job Overview: We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to lead initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency and productivity of our business unit. This role involves a combination of data analysis, project management, and strategic business process development. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial services or wealth management, with a strong background in data management, business analysis, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Analysis & Insights: Perform detailed data analysis, mining, and aggregation to drive strategic decision-making and optimize business operations.
  • Project Leadership: Lead research and analysis projects to enhance business unit efficiency, focusing on product development, service improvement, and workflow optimization.
  • Business Process Development: Assist in developing new business initiatives, from information gathering and model development to implementation and ongoing monitoring.
  • Collaborative Partnerships: Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders as part of shared projects, maintaining strong partnerships and aligning project goals with business objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and innovate solutions to enhance business processes and systems.
  • Requirements Management: Elicit, document, and verify business, system, and functional requirements, ensuring they meet the needs of stakeholders and align with business goals.
  • Implementation Support: Collaborate with development teams to implement requirements and guide the QA process, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Project Coordination: Manage project schedules, documentation, and communications, resolving conflicts and providing timely updates on project progress.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all processes and materials comply with internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus six years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree plus four years, or an equivalent diploma with eight years of experience.
  • Certifications: CSC, CBAP, PMP, CSM, or CSPO designations are beneficial.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years in business analysis or project management within financial services or wealth management. At least four years of experience in data management or performance analysis.
  • Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and SQL for complex data analysis. Strong project management skills and proficiency in MS Office tools like Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio. Familiarity with Jira is an asset.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the financial services industry and experience in operations or technology roles within this sector.
  • Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English with the ability to manage relationships professionally both internally and externally.
