Purpose:

As a Buyer, you will support and execute the operational and tactical procurement of goods and services within Eastern Canada.Supporting the implementation of procurement strategies, you will work in close cooperation with Procurement Managers and the business on a local level. In coordinating the operational and tactical procurement of local goods and services, you will be responsible for contract implementation, category strategy execution, and communicating supplier performance through the procurement team.

Key Responsibilities:



Support and execute the procurement of goods and services in accordance with category strategies, as well as applicable policies, procedures, and specifications.
Create local purchase orders for supplies, equipment and services within authorized signature limits with pre-qualified suppliers.
Solicit quotes or generate RFQ’s in accordance with procurement policy in collaboration with operations and other stakeholders
Drive the realization of savings, supply efficiency, quality, and process improvements in own country, in line with zone and global strategies.
Support category projects and initiatives at the local level
Provide Category and Operational Management with information and support for the integration of local volumes, processes, quality levels and prices into strategy development
Co-ordinate with the business and shared service center regarding resolution on P2P issues as they occur and perform root cause analysis to ensure that best practices are captured and shared amongst team
Coach Requisitioners on Buyways and P2P process to enhance their understanding of purchasing process and the use of SAP
Maintain the Integrity of spend classification and other PO requirements
Assist with new vendor qualifications and onboarding as required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required Education: Bachelor's/Undergraduate Degree

Additional Education Preferred: Supply Chain Management

Field of Study Preferred: Business; Supply Chain

Required Work Experience: ( less than 5 years of supply chain experience)



Experience in a previous procurement role (buyer, sourcing, operations) with exposure to supply chain management, strategic sourcing and optimal procurement processes and standards
SAP Materials Management Module experience
Analytical Skill and power Microsoft Office and Power BI user
Demonstrated performance in working within cross-functional teams, with requisite drive and energy to ensure that a challenging benefits and capability building agenda is successfully delivered


Travel Requirements: Low to medium mobility

Required Computer and Software Skills:



SAP, Microsoft Office, Google Drive

Good written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively/convincingly at most levels (including technical and operational) and with most functions in the local language
