What will your responsibilities be?

This position is for creative and passionate engineers who want to take on technical challenges in R&D software development. Perfect for anyone fascinated by the creation and realization of innovative software solutions, this role focuses on the technical side of software engineering rather than management. We're looking for candidates with a passion for excellence in the design and development of complex software systems, who want to contribute to our ambition to remain world leaders in the automated handling of garments on hangers.

  • Software architecture design: Design the architecture of the software to be developed to enable outsourcing of development by module, defining clear interfaces and communication standards to ensure smooth integration of different software modules. Excel in communicating scopes to different subcontractors and be able to analyze code returned by them to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration: Work closely with project managers and the existing R&D technical team (automation, mechanical, software, electrical) to develop a state-of-the-art robotic system to automate the storage of garments on hangers for global e-commerce platforms.
  • Research and development: Assume an active role in R&D, involving both computer-aided design work and hands-on experimentation in the company's dedicated laboratory to test and evaluate robot behavior. The aim is to finalize the development of an initial system right through to its market-ready status.
  • Design: Develop applications using different technologies and languages (C#, SQL, Web API, Socket TCP/UDP etc.) Develop and manage databases. Write functional programming code on the front and backends. Design interfaces to make the system more user-friendly to meet customer needs. Create security and data protection parameters. Write technical documentation.
  • Collaborative innovation: Actively participate in all project brainstorming sessions, contributing to idea generation and problem solving. Collaborate on an ad hoc basis with mechanical, robotic and automation engineers to contribute to the development and design of a world-class robotic system.
  • Validation and testing: Lead the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) phases, scheduled at the first customer site to ensure system compliance and performance prior to deployment. Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency, and correct problems and code where necessary.
  • Commissioning and support: Carry out system commissioning and provide ongoing technical support as a key resource for the smooth operation and optimization of installations.
  • Continuous improvement: Once the initial system is operational, participate in the continuous improvement of the robotic system to support the company's ambition to remain the world leader in the automated handling of garments on hangers.
  • Versatility and adaptability: Assume a variety of related tasks to support the advancement of assigned projects, adapting strategies and techniques as needed to achieve team objectives.
What we're looking for:

  • Intermediate English (to be able to communicate with suppliers and customers located in the USA)
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Experience in an R&D environment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (an asset)
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence, including machine learning and neural networks.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Be a cheerful person!
