Role:
The Site Manager (quarrying and paving) ensures the safety, supervision, performance, and development of the site's operating, manufacturing, and maintenance teams. This role also involves optimizing plant performance, interfacing with functional teams, and maintaining Lafarge’s industry reputation and community relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety: Oversee and enforce Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Production Management: Ensure aggregate production meets sales needs and manage local and national contracts.
  • Financial Management: Track financial performance, contribute to the budget, and identify cost-cutting opportunities.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with monthly inventory reconciliation and balance area inventories with demand.
  • Sustainable Mining: Ensure compliance with the Authorization Certificate and manage the multi-year mining plan.
  • Customer Focus: Maintain sufficient inventory levels and optimize product offerings.
  • Coordination: Supervise Dispatch and Weighmasters.
  • Sustainability and Environment Management: Meet or exceed guidelines for snow disposal and recycled products, and mitigate environmental impact.
  • Community Relations: Develop and maintain relationships within the community and act as the site representative with stakeholders.
  • Human Resources: Manage employee relations and the collective agreement application.
Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience: Undergraduate degree in business or engineering, with a minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and people management skills. Proficiency in computer applications and knowledge of the aggregate industry are assets. Bilingualism is an asset.

  • Production: Aggregate (2.3 million tonnes), asphalt (200,000 tonnes), recycled material (100,000 tonnes), snow disposal (1 million cubic metres), Concrete & Asphalt Demolition Wastes reception
