Job Title: Azure Administrator

Duration: Contract

Location: Hybrid in Toronto, ON




Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Azure Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. As an Azure Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the Azure cloud environments to ensure they are secure, operational, and cost-efficient. You will work closely with other IT teams and stakeholders to deploy, monitor, and maintain Azure infrastructure and services.




Responsibilities:

Manage Azure subscriptions, resource groups, and resources including VMs, storage, networking, and PaaS services.

Monitor Azure services for availability, performance, and security.

Implement and manage Azure AD (Active Directory), including users, groups, and policies.

Configure and maintain Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), VPNs, and ExpressRoute.

Implement and manage Azure backup and disaster recovery solutions.

Collaborate with development teams to deploy applications on Azure and optimize their performance.

Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and procedures for Azure environments.

Troubleshoot Azure related issues and engage with Microsoft support as needed.

Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members on Azure administration best practices.




Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Proven experience as an Azure Administrator or similar role in a large-scale environment.

Strong understanding of Azure services and architecture, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.

Hands-on experience with Azure CLI, PowerShell, or ARM templates for automation and deployment.

Solid understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and firewalls.

Experience with Azure monitoring, logging, and cost management tools.

Knowledge of Azure security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-303, or AZ-304 are a plus.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
