Task description and requirements

A hospital client in the Northwest Territories is seeking contracted Obstetrics Registered Nurses to join for a contract position working . Assistance will be provided to navigate license transfers to the Northwest Territories for any qualified candidates.


Tenure: 3 week, rotating contracts


Start Date: July 1st


Job Duties:

Apply advanced nursing processes (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) and current nursing practice to ensure that the obstetrical clients' physical, emotional, psycho- social, spiritual and educational needs are met.
Interpret and prioritize findings to determine and implement a plan of action based on accepted standards of practice.
Operate medical equipment including blood pressure cuffs, stretchers, thermometers, peripheral IV pumps and lines, and pulse oximeters.
Provide training on specialized equipment, techniques, and medications, including fetal monitors and isolettes.
Educate patients and families on appropriate self-care methods and techniques.


Must have:

1+ year of obstetrics nursing
Must have a valid RN license from Canada
Valid Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Completion of either Fetal Health Surveillance program OR Advances in Labour and Risk Management program
