Job Summary
Our commitment to research and evidence-based practices aims to transform mental health treatment standards across Canada. As data becomes increasingly central to enhancing patient outcomes, we are looking for a talented Data Engineer to join us on a part-time contract basis. This role is particularly focused on facilitating the democratization of data for clinical and non-technical employees, ensuring a secure and safe environment that protects confidential Patient Health Information (PHI).

As a full - time Data Engineer within our IT department, you will work closely with our Reporting and Analytics team. You'll be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and optimizing secure data pipelines that enable non-technical users to model critical processes, track clinical outcomes, enable measurement-based care, predict outcomes, and forecast performance—while strictly maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of PHI.

Responsibilities 
  • Design, construct, install, test, and maintain scalable and secure data management systems.
  • Facilitate the democratization of data by creating user-friendly dashboards and interfaces that allow clinical and non-technical employees to access data in a secure and safe manner.
  • Ensure seamless integration across key platforms like Microsoft 365, Sharepoint, Azure, Kipu, Salesforce, Hubspot, Netsuite, ADP, and Genesys.
  • Collaborate closely with the Reporting and Analytics team to develop and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
  • Act as a liaison between IT, Reporting and Analytics, and other departments, aligning data strategies and implementations while ensuring PHI confidentiality.
  • Explore new data solutions like Snowflake and Fivetran, evaluating their utility for enhancing our secure data infrastructure.
  • Assist stakeholders with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Enforce robust data privacy and compliance protocols in alignment with relevant healthcare laws (PHIPA, PIPEDA, etc.).
Requirements 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Data Engineering role.
  • Hands-on experience with data platforms such as Microsoft 365, Sharepoint, Azure, Kipu, Salesforce, Hubspot, Netsuite, ADP, and Genesys.
  • Experience in facilitating data access for non-technical users while maintaining strict data privacy controls.
  • Strong scripting and programming skills, particularly in languages like Python, Java, Scala.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations, particularly in the healthcare sector.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
