Task description and requirements

The Director of Human Resources (HR) will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the company. This includes overseeing talent acquisition, organizational development, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits, and employee relations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of aligning HR initiatives with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Leadership:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Partner with senior leadership to understand and address organizational needs.
  • Provide strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team and the board of directors.
  • Talent Acquisition and Management:
  • Lead the recruitment strategy to attract top talent in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of effective talent management and succession planning processes.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in talent acquisition, retention, and development.
  • Employee Development and Training:
  • Design and implement comprehensive training and development programs.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and initiatives to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Compensation and Benefits:
  • Oversee the design and administration of compensation and benefits programs.
  • Ensure competitive positioning within the industry and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and consultants for benefits administration.
  • Performance Management and Organizational Development:
  • Lead the development and implementation of performance management systems.
  • Work with department leaders to ensure alignment of performance goals with business objectives.
  • Facilitate organizational change initiatives and provide leadership during times of transformation.
  • Employee Relations and Engagement:
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that support organizational goals and comply with legal requirements.
  • Address employee grievances and issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • HR Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement policies and practices that mitigate organizational risk.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies.
  • HR Technology and Systems:
  • Oversee the selection and implementation of HR technology solutions to streamline HR processes.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient use of HR systems for reporting and analytics.
  • Drive continuous improvement in HR operations through technology and process enhancements.
Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR role within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of HR principles and practices, especially in a regulated industry. Familiarity with the unique challenges and opportunities in the pharmaceutical sector.
