Task description and requirements

The Astek Group, a global leader in engineering and technology consulting, is looking for an IT Business Analyst to join our growing team in Ontario. Since its founding in France in 1988, Astek has supported clients worldwide with their digital transformation, focusing on IT consulting and engineering services in Canada.

Mission: As an IT Business Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Researching, analyzing, and documenting clear Functional Specifications and System Requirements.
  • Developing functional solutions for complex business needs across various technologies and applications.
  • Collaborating with development teams to ensure delivered solutions meet business needs.
  • Supporting QA with test strategies and providing business analysis support during functional and integrated testing.
  • Managing complex work assignments independently to meet project needs and timelines.
Technical Requirements:

  • Knowledge of software architecture, ETL concepts, and database architecture.
  • Experience with Informatica IICS integration projects and a good understanding of IICS concepts, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, and Agile methodologies (Scrum Master experience preferred).
  • Ability to work in both Waterfall and Hybrid Agile/Waterfall environments.
Profile:

  • University degree, college diploma, and/or certifications in a related discipline or equivalent training and work experience.
  • Experience in finance departments, particularly in Billing, AR/AP, and General Ledger functions.
  • Minimum 5 years of IT or systems business analysis experience, with strong requirements analysis and elicitation skills.
  • Certification in CBAP, IIBA membership, or other BA designation.
  • Experience with ERP Oracle Cloud finance modules, SQL, data analysis, EDW/EDP.
  • Strong understanding of the system development life cycle.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
