 Title:                 Director of Operations 
Department:     Operations
Reports to:       Senior Executive Director, Bellwood
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Operations is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the facility in cooperation with the clinical and medical team leaders who are responsible for patient care. As a leadership team, operations and clinical/medical will work together to deliver the best possible patient care and customer service experience. The Director of Operations will lead critical projects focusing on operational improvements and efficiencies.
The Director of Operations is responsible for the following departments: Facilities, Housekeeping, Kitchen, Café and Store, Security and Community Relations. In addition, the role is the operational contact between Bellwood and the following national departments: Admissions, IT, Alumni, Finance, and Human Resources.
The preferred candidate has proven and effective management skills, a commitment to high quality work, patient safety, and best possible outcomes all while demonstrating a strong customer service orientation and project management focus.
Job Function and Duties:
  • Manage a team of staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, coaching and performance management 
  • Look for opportunities for continuous improvement, new programs, and innovation to maintain Bellwood’s reputation as a best in class mental health and addiction treatment facility
  • Support development of new revenue opportunities, including environment scan of competition, development of business plan, ROI analysis, project management and execution
  • Oversee work processes, policies, directives, and SOPs and deliver high standards of efficiency, service, and quality across all departments
  • Develop strategies to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare facility
  • Act as liaison with national departments to maintain effective communication, so that client treatment, clinical intervention and Bellwood goals are achieved, as well as solving operational and resource issues to ensure staff can work efficiently and effectively
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule
  • Ensure all regulatory standards are met regarding facility operational and safety standards, infection control, fire prevention, etc.
  • Responsible for managing departmental budgets and participating in annual budgeting process
  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements for third party suppliers and/or service providers that are in the best interest of the company
  • Manage relationships with revenue partners such as bank machine, vending machines and other
  • Handle patient and client relations, complaints, and related matters
  • Conduct reviews, quality control and drive/lead improvements and enhancements
  • Budgeting, planning, submission of business proposals, performance management and risk management with regards current and new programs
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in a business or healthcare related field required
  • A minimum of 3 years management experience in a healthcare setting, mental health and addiction treatment experience preferred
  • Independent, self-driven, results-oriented, and resilient
  • Strong leadership skills and management competencies
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills, including communication and interpersonal skills to deal with a diverse spectrum of people
  • Strategic & critical thinking as well as decision-making and negotiation skills
  • Technologically savvy, up to date and able to identify and implement viable solutions
  • Dedicated, well organized, meticulous, analytical, and proactive
  • Able to adapt, prioritize, exercise initiative, manage pressure, multitask and work independently
  • Flexible and able to attend to matters beyond normal office hours
